We’ve listed answers to some of the most common questions below. You may also find it helpful to check out the How to Play Pop the Pig video for a visual reference of how to play the game.
Important: Please note that there are two versions of Pop the Pig. You can tell which version you have by determining if the pig has solid blue pants or checkered blue and white pants. The main difference between these two versions is that they reset differently after the pig has popped. Please pay close attention to the version of the game when reading the troubleshooting tips below.
I can’t get the pig’s belly to expand and my game has checkered blue and white pants:
1. Twist the tail to the left until you hear/feel a clicking sound and the pig’s tail stays in the left position. Then push the arms down and close the vest. Make sure the pig’s tail stays in the left position until after you press on his head the first time, which will cause the tail to move.
2. Firmly and quickly push on the top of the pig’s head using both hands, one on top of the other (as if performing CPR), until his vest pops open and his arms fly up. If you don’t press hard enough, the pump will not work properly and the belly will not inflate. Pushing the pig’s head too softly is the number one reason the pig’s belly may not inflate. The belly will be fully inflated and the pig will pop after pushing down on his head 30-36 times.
I can’t get the pig’s belly to expand and my game has solid blue pants:
1. Make sure you hear a click when you press down on the pig’s head. If you hear a click when you push the head and the belly still isn’t expanding, please call our toll free customer service number at 1-855-258-8214 or send us an email at email@example.com.
I can’t get the pig’s arms to stay down and my pig has checkered blue and white pants:
Twist the tail to the left until you hear/feel a clicking sound and the pig’s tail stays in the left position. Then push the arms down and close the vest. The arms will not go down until you have twisted the pig’s tail to the left. Once you push the pig’s head, the tail will shift to a new position which is normal. If the arms still won’t go down, press firmly on the pig’s head around 30 – 36 times until his belly is fully inflated, and try to twist the tail again.
I can’t get the pig’s arms to stay down and my pig has solid blue pants:
If you are having trouble getting the pig’s arms to go down, push down on his head 1-2 more times. This should make the pig’s belly go back to normal size, and then you can put his arms down. If this doesn’t work, press on his head 30 – 36 times until his belly expands fully and he deflates. Once you see his belly deflate, immediately stop pressing on his head and put his arms down.
